Chris Jensen’s practice focuses on real estate and land use, public and private financing, and land conservation. He represents a wide range of real estate owners and developers in the purchase and sale, development, and leasing of all types of commercial real estate. He also specializes in land conservation representing landowners and land trusts in complex conservation easement transactions.

Chris has experience in all phases of real estate and land use projects, including contract negotiation, due diligence and entitlement review, project financing, and entity and partnership structuring issues.  His finance experience includes advising project sponsors and developers on complex financing, such as securitized debt, agency financing, construction loans, and private equity, as well as integrating 1031, tenancy-in-common, and other issues into project strategy and execution.  Chris has served as lead outside counsel and local counsel for clients from across Colorado and the nation.

As a Colorado native, Chris is well-versed in local and regional development and land use issues, and enjoys working to further development and conservation objectives, where each is appropriate.  Prior to joining the Firm, Chris worked as a commercial real estate and conservation attorney.  Prior to law school, Chris worked in the nonprofit environmental sector, including work in land conservation with the Nature Conservancy, in the environmental health program of the Environmental Defense Fund, and at the national headquarters of the National Audubon Society.
