Kaplan Kirsch & Rockwell (KKR) is a boutique law firm with a national practice devoted exclusively to infrastructure, environmental, land use, real estate development, conservation, energy, transportation, and public-private partnerships (P3 / PPP) law.  The firm advises companies and public agencies on their most important projects, and has particularly extensive expertise advising airport, transit and transportation agency clients.

KKR offers a unique opportunity for a junior or midlevel associate attorney to join our recently established New York office.  In this role, you will be a key member of our growing major projects practice, which advises clients on some of the nation’s most complex and high-profile projects.  The New York office has a particular focus on P3s in all their varied forms.

As the second member of our New York office, you will be uniquely positioned to have a significant impact from day one while also gaining valuable experience. KKR seeks a motivated and entrepreneurial individual with the following qualifications to fill this role:

  • 1-5 years transactional (e.g. corporate, finance) experience practice as an attorney
  • New York bar admission
  • Law degree from accredited law school
  • Record of academic achievement

In addition, KKR will consider positively:

  • Civic minded team players
  • Prior P3 / PPP, design-build, construction law, project finance, public finance, and/or infrastructure and transportation law experience
  • Experience with TIFIA and/or RRIF programs, private activity bonds (PABs)
  • Experience with Federal transportation regulations and/or USDOT, FAA, FRA, FTA, FHWA, and Build America Bureau
  • Experience advising different types of clients, including some or all of public agencies, private equity / infrastructure funds, and/or construction companies
  • Demonstrated interest in infrastructure, urbanism, public policy, and/or related matters
