The Critical Issues in Aviation and the Environment series is an ongoing, peer-reviewed initiative by the Transportation Research Board to characterize the current state of knowledge and critical needed research regarding important topics relating to the effects of aviation on the environment.  The Environmental Review Process chapter written by John Putnam identifies critical issues relating to NEPA review of aviation projects, environmental streamlining, and environmental management.
