On September 1, 2010, the FAA Director of Airport Compliance and Field Operations dismissed a complaint filed by the receiver for the Venice Jet Center against Firm client, the City of Venice, Florida. The receiver for this FBO alleged that the City had improperly refused to permit the FBO to construct hangars on its leasehold. The FAA concluded that the Complainant lacked standing because the receiver had conveyed the leasehold interest in the FBO facility to another entity during the pendency of the Part 16 proceeding, and the FAA further concluded that the purchaser lacked standing because it had not sought and been denied the right to build on its leasehold.
