A special FAA task force has proposed registration requirements for all unmanned aircraft vehicles (“UAVs”) over 250 grams (about 8.8 ounces) and under 55 pounds, including devices used solely for hobby or recreational use. An owner would need to submit his or her name and mailing address in order to receive a unique registration number that would apply to all UAVs belonging to that owner. Each UAV would be required to be marked with its owner’s registration number.
