On November 19, 2018, the country’s preeminent archaeological organizations—the American Anthropological Association (AAA), the Archaeological Institute of America (AIA), and the Society for American Archaeology (SAA)—filed an amicus brief opposing the President’s ultra vires rescission of Grand Staircase-Escalante and Bears Ears National Monuments.
