FTA Buy America Waiver Granted to Firm Client San Bernardino Associated Governments

The Federal Transit Administration granted a Buy America waiver on October 9, 2014, to San Bernardino Associated Governments (SANBAG) based on the domestic non-availability of a variable-refrigerant volume heating, ventilating, and air conditioning system to be installed in SANBAG’s new multi-modal transfer facility. The system for which the waiver was granted is highly efficient and will allow SANBAG to obtain a LEED Gold rating and achieve other important sustainability objectives for the new station that will serve passengers and operators of fixed route buses from multiple transit operators, a bus rapid transit line, and Metrolink commuter trains.
