Katy is a real estate and redevelopment attorney who represents clients on complex development and infrastructure projects. Her practice focuses on projects involving significant public participation, including public-private partnerships, land acquisition and disposition for redevelopment, and strategies for navigating regulatory, title, and environmental due diligence. Katy has extensive experience guiding large-scale, mixed-use projects with multiple governmental and private stakeholder interests from early planning through final disposition, including affordable housing, transportation-oriented development, and the redevelopment of brownfields and other impacted sites.
She previously served as in-house counsel to Forest City and Brookfield Properties, where she worked closely with metropolitan districts, municipalities, and public agencies on transformative redevelopment efforts, including the former Stapleton Airport in Denver and former military base redevelopment projects in California and Massachusetts.
Her experience includes advising developers and public-sector partners on public infrastructure construction and financing, access needs, title encumbrances, environmental remediation, redevelopment structures, land acquisition due diligence, disposition contracts, corporate structures, and contractor and consultant agreements.
