Congratulations to the Allegheny County Airport Authority on obtaining airline approval for their $1.39 billion Terminal Modernization Program (TMP) at Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT).
Airlines showed their support for the project by signing a new amendment to the existing operating agreement that extends the term for an additional seven years and approves the design and construction of the TMP. This agreement will allow the Airport Authority to secure long-term bond financing to continue with final planning and begin construction of the new 700,000-square-foot terminal. The new land-side terminal building will house consolidated ticketing, security checkpoints, baggage claim, and a new multi-modal complex will include a new 3,300 space parking garage, rental car facilities, TNC drop off and pickup areas, surface parking lots, and roadways.
Firm attorneys, Dave Bannard and Steve Kaplan, assisted PIT in negotiating the new Airline Operating Agreement that supports funding and operating the program. We are proud to have been part of this significant infrastructure project that will deliver long-term economic benefits to the Pittsburgh region.
